Life & Career
Early Life: Neil Alden Armstrong was born on August 5, 1930, in Wapakoneta, Ohio. From a young age, he was fascinated with flight and spent much of his childhood building model airplanes and learning to fly.
Astronaut Career: Armstrong became a naval aviator, test pilot, and later an astronaut with NASA. On July 20, 1969, he became the first human to set foot on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission, famously saying, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
Legacy: Armstrong’s achievement marked a pivotal moment in space exploration and inspired generations of scientists, engineers, and space enthusiasts around the world.
