Life & History

Early Life: Wilbur Wright was born on April 16, 1867, in Millville, Indiana. Along with his brother Orville, he developed an early fascination with mechanics and flight, encouraged by their supportive family environment.

Aviation Pioneer: Wilbur and Orville Wright conducted extensive experiments with gliders and aerodynamics. On December 17, 1903, they achieved the first powered, controlled, heavier-than-air flight in the Wright Flyer, with Wilbur piloting one of the historic flights.

Later Achievements: Wilbur continued working with Orville to refine airplanes, develop flight schools, and promote aviation worldwide. Their patents and engineering principles laid the groundwork for modern flight.

Legacy: Wilbur Wright passed away on May 30, 1912, at the age of 45. He is remembered as one of the most influential inventors and aviation pioneers in history.
