Life & History

Early Life: Warren Gamaliel Harding was born on November 2, 1865, in Blooming Grove, Ohio. He worked as a teacher and newspaper publisher before entering politics, gaining recognition as a strong communicator.

Political Career: Harding served in the Ohio State Senate and later as Lieutenant Governor of Ohio. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1914, where he supported business-friendly policies and limited government intervention.

Presidency (1921–1923): Harding became the 29th President of the United States. He promoted a “return to normalcy” after World War I, supporting economic growth and reduced regulations. His administration was later overshadowed by scandals, including the Teapot Dome affair.

Later Life & Death: Harding died suddenly of a heart attack on August 2, 1923, while still in office. His presidency is often remembered for both economic recovery and political scandal.
