Early Life: Richard Milhous Nixon was born on January 9, 1913, in Yorba Linda, California. He grew up in a modest Quaker family and attended Whittier College before earning a law degree from Duke University.
Political Career: Nixon served as U.S. Representative and Senator from California, then as Vice President under Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1953–1961.
Presidency (1969–1974): Nixon became the 37th President of the United States. His achievements include opening relations with China, détente with the USSR, and establishing the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He resigned in 1974 due to the Watergate scandal, the only U.S. president to do so.
Later Life: Nixon wrote numerous books, advised future presidents, and died on April 22, 1994, leaving a complex legacy in American politics.
