Early Life: John Moses Browning was born on January 23, 1855, in Ogden, Utah. He grew up in a Mormon pioneer family and displayed mechanical talent from a young age, crafting his first gun at the age of 13.
Innovations: Browning became one of the most influential firearms designers in history. He developed multiple revolutionary weapons, including lever-action rifles, semi-automatic pistols, and machine guns, many of which were adopted by militaries worldwide.
Legacy: His inventions laid the foundation for modern firearms. Browning’s designs include the M1911 pistol, Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR), and the Browning M2 heavy machine gun, still in use today.
Later Life & Death: Browning continued inventing until his death on November 26, 1926, in Liege, Belgium, where he had moved to work with Fabrique Nationale (FN) for his firearms designs.
