Life & History
Early Life: Franklin Delano Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882, in Hyde Park, New York. He came from a wealthy family and was educated at Harvard University and Columbia Law School.
Political Career: Roosevelt served as a New York State Senator and later as Governor of New York. Despite being diagnosed with polio, which limited his ability to walk, he remained active in politics and built strong public support.
Presidency (1933–1945): FDR became the 32nd President of the United States and served four terms, the only president to do so. He led the country through the Great Depression with the New Deal programs and guided the nation during World War II.
Later Life: Roosevelt died in office on April 12, 1945. He is remembered as one of the most influential presidents for his leadership during two major crises in American history.
