Early Life: Calvin Coolidge was born on July 4, 1872, in Plymouth Notch, Vermont. He grew up in a small rural community and later studied law, building a career in Massachusetts.
Political Career: Coolidge served as mayor of Northampton, then governor of Massachusetts. He gained national attention for handling the Boston Police Strike firmly, supporting law and order.
Presidency (1923–1929): Coolidge became the 30th President after the death of Warren G. Harding. He favored limited government, lower taxes, and business growth during the prosperous “Roaring Twenties.”
Later Life: Coolidge chose not to run for another term and retired to private life. He died on January 5, 1933, and is remembered for his quiet leadership style and belief in small government.
