Early Life: Alexander Fleming was born on August 6, 1881, in Lochfield, Ayrshire, Scotland. He grew up on a farm and developed an early interest in science and nature.

Medical Career: Fleming studied medicine at St Mary's Hospital Medical School in London. He became a microbiologist and worked extensively on bacteria and antiseptics.

Discovery of Penicillin: In 1928, Fleming observed that a mold called Penicillium notatum killed harmful bacteria. This discovery led to the development of penicillin, the world’s first true antibiotic, revolutionizing medicine and saving millions of lives.

Awards & Legacy: Fleming received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1945, along with Howard Florey and Ernst Boris Chain, for their work in developing penicillin for medical use. He passed away on March 11, 1955, in London, leaving a monumental impact on modern medicine.
